SDG Goal 16 gif

Coalition of Concerned
Legal Professionals

In these troubled times... it's time to ACT.
An organized community is the ultimate court!
Join a winning team.

COALITION OF CONCERNED LEGAL PROFESSIONALS (CCLP)  is a free and voluntary, unincorporated private membership association of attorneys, law students, paralegals, court reporters and others who have united to commit time, skills and resources to promote access to meaningful legal recourse for the growing number of people who otherwise cannot afford an attorney or access to the courts, and hence are denied due process.  Despite the fact that, according to a study by Harvard Law School, this nation has more lawyers than all the other countries of the world combined, 95% of the nation’s lawyers represent only 1% of the population. Legal representation is a luxury that few can afford.

The program provides neither acts of charity nor isolated acts of good will, but rather aids people in obtaining what is rightfully theirs in a context that promotes their best interests on all levels. CCLP does not seek tax exempt 501(c)(3) or (4) status, leaving the membership free to decide if and when it will take action to change existing government policies harmful to its constituents’ interests.

We at CCLP do not pursue legal cases as the sole source of possible redress; our approach combines organizing and legal work. We believe our actions will formulate a true example of how the distance between due process as written and the reality for those without means can be bridged. Join us in this fight.

Know Your Law Sessions

CCLP volunteer attorneys and lay benefit case workers organize “Know Your Law” sessions, in which volunteer attorneys make presentations on areas of the law of relevance and interest to members of organizations in the low-income community. Volunteer attorneys and lay benefit case workers also set up and run Legal Advice Sessions where attorneys provide legal advice free of charge and advocates follow up.
